Allahabad University conducts Law Admission Test (LAT) in order to
offer admission to aspirants in three year LLB programme offered by it.
Aspirants seeking admission in undergraduate level law courses at Allahabad
University (AU) need to apply for the course of their choice on the official
website of the varsity. Apart from LAT, Allahabad University also conducts
Law Faculty Admission Test (LFAT) which aspirants need to give if they want
to secure admission in five year integrated BA LLB programme at the Central
University.
LAT
entrance exam is of two and a half hour duration wherein aspirants have to
attempt a total of 250 objective type questions. On the basis of an
aspirant’s performance in LAT exam, he/she can secure admission to fill 493
seats in three year LLB programme offered at Allahabad University. |

Aspirants
seeking admission in three year LLB programme at Allahabad University need to
be Indian nationals in order to be eligible to apply for LAT 2018. The
eligibility criteria for LAT exam states that any candidate who possesses a
graduation degree from a recognised university can apply for the exam.
However, to meet the LAT 2018 eligibility criteria, aspirants need to possess
the below mentioned marks in their qualifying exam:
• 45% aggregate marks if they belong to General category.
• 42% aggregate marks if they belong to OBC category.
• 40% aggregate marks if they belong to SC/ST category.
Apart from this, aspirants who are in the final year of their graduation
can also apply for the exam provided they meet the LAT 2018 eligibility
criteria as mentioned by Allahabad University.
Age Limit: Aspirants need to be atleast 20
years of age to be eligible to apply for LAT exam. |

LAT 2018
Exam Pattern: The law entrance exam conducted by Allahabad University for
admission in its three year LLB programme is pen-paper based. LAT exam
consists of objective type multiple choice questions which aspirants need to
attempt in 2 hours and 30 minutes duration. LAT 2018 consists of three exam
papers which aspirants need to complete in two and a half hours. The LAT test
papers comprise of questions on Language Comprehension, General Awareness and
Current Affairs as well as Reasoning and Mental Ability.
LAT comprises of a total of 250 questions. There is negative marking
in LAT exam. The exam pattern for LAT 2018 is as mentioned below: |

Results |
Allahabad University declares the results for LAT exam in the month of
June each year. Aspirants can check Allahabad University LAT result on the
official website of the law entrance exam. On the basis of an aspirant’s
performance in LAT exam, he/she can secure admission in three year LLB course
offered at Allahabad University. Candidates can view their result for LAT
2018 by providing their registration number and password on Allahabad University’s
official website. LAT result is usually displayed in the PDF format. LAT
result contains the marks/score obtained by the candidate in the law entrance
exam. LAT 2018 final merit is prepared on the basis of a candidate’s score in
Allahabad University LAT exam and their marks in the qualifying exam.
Candidates are informed that no separate LAT rank card will be sent to them.
Thus, each candidate needs to take a clear print of their LAT result and keep
it securely with themselves for future reference. Aspirants who make it to
Allahabad University LAT 2018 merit list need to then appear for the
counselling round conducted by Allahabad University in order to secure
admission in LLB programme offered by the varsity. |
Admit Card |
Allahabad University LAT admit card is made available for candidates
in the online mode. Aspirants can download their LAT admit card from the
official website of Allahabad University. The admit card for LAT exam is
released in the month of June by Allahabad University. Candidates are
informed that Allahabad University LAT hall ticket would be issued to only
those candidates who have successfully filled and submitted their application
form for the law entrance exam. Any candidate who is not carrying a valid
hall ticket for LAT on the day of the exam would not be allowed to enter the
examination hall. Aspirants are advised to thoroughly verify the information
mentioned on the admit card for Allahabad University’s entrance exam for LLB
course admissions. If there is any discrepancy in the information mentioned
on LAT admit card then candidates are advised to immediately inform the exam
conducting authorities regarding the same. |
Counselling |
Candidates who make it to the final merit list of Allahabad University
LAT exam then need to appear for the counselling round in order to confirm
their seat in three year LLB programme offered by the varsity. LAT
counselling is conducted in the month of July by Allahabad University. The
counselling round for LAT admissions is conducted in the offline mode.
Candidates need to appear for Allahabad University LAT counselling round as
per the schedule and venue details shared with them by LAT authorities. At
the time of LAT counselling, aspirants need to confirm their admission as
against the LLB seats on offer and thereafter submit the required documents
and pay their admission fee. Aspirants are informed that at the time of
counselling if any candidate is found to be ineligible for admission then
his/her candidature would be cancelled with immediate effect.

registration form for LAT exam, aspirants need to visit the official website
of Allahabad University. The application forms for LAT admissions are usually
made available in the month of April each year.
