Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that
primarily tests a comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate

| GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute
of Science and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur,
IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National
Coordination Board-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human
Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India |

| B.E./B.Tech//B.Pharma: Bachelor’s degree holders
in Engineering/ Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after Diploma in
Engineering/Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs
[Description of Eligible Candidates: Currently in the final year or already
completed] |
| B.Arch: Bachelor’s degree holders of Architecture
(Five years course) [Description of Eligible Candidates: Currently in the
final year or already completed] |
| B.Sc (Research)/ B.S: Bachelor’s degree in
Science (Post-Diploma/ 4 years after 10+2) |
| M.Sc/ M.A/MCA or equivalent: Master’s degree in
any branch of Science/Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or

| Integrated M.E/ M.Tech (Post-B.Sc): Post-BSc

| GATE 2017 Application Process |
| Application Process: Candidates need to register
and fill the application online only by accessing the zonal GATE websites of
IISc and seven IITs |
| GATE 2017 PAPERS |
| Candidates must familiarize with the paper code
for the paper of their choice, as this knowledge will be required at the time
of application form submission and appearing for the examination |
| A candidate is allowed to appear in ONLY ONE paper |
| Since a candidate is allowed to appear in ONLY ONE
of the 23 papers for which GATE 2016 examination is being held, the candidate
has to make the choice of the paper he/she wishes to write carefully |
