Founded in 1929, Annamalai University is the first private university
and one of Asia's largest public residential universities located in India.
The university is one of the first institutions in the country to offer
courses of higher education in science, engineering, humanities, agriculture
and arts. A pioneer in imparting quality education, it was taken over by the
Tamil Nadu government in 2013 and has emerged as one of the largest public
residential university with 10 faculties and 49 departments of study.The
university also provides more than 500 courses through distance learning
mode. Faculty of Education offers the following UG & PG programmes to its
students every year:
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
• Master of Education (M.Ed.)
Only candidates with the relevant qualifying degree can register
themselves for admission to courses offered by the Faculty of Education.
Admission to the B.Ed and M.Ed programmes is done on the basis of candidate’s
performance in the qualifying examination degree merit. Eligible candidates
can apply for admission to the courses by downloading the application forms
available at the university website. Completed applications should be
submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs.
400/- (Rs. 200/- for SC/ST/SCA candidates). |

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.):
• Candidates should have undergone 10+2+3 (15) or 11+1+3 (15) pattern of
study conducted by State Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of
Education
• Candidates who have passed 10 and 10+2 standards are also eligible to
apply under Open University system
• Candidates having PG degree (5 years integrated degree programme) under
10+2+5 or 11+1+5 pattern are also eligible to apply for the programme
• Candidates who possess UG degree in Applied Mathematics, Physics,
Geophysics, Biophysics and Electronics, Biochemistry and Applied Chemistry,
Biotechnology and Plant Biology & Plant Biotechnology, Environmental
Science and Microbiology can apply for admission in their respective field of
study.
Master of Education (M.Ed.):
• Candidate must possess B.Ed or M.H.Ed degree with 50% marks from this
university or any other recognized university but for SC/ST candidates must
pass in qualification examination. |
| How to Apply |
B.Ed & M.Ed
Candidates can register themselves for the above mentioned courses
through the online application process.
• Candidate should log on to the official university website and fill the
concerned application form to register for the B.Ed./ M.Ed. programmes.
• Upon filling-in all the relevant details, candidate will be allotted an
online application number for future correspondence.
• Candidate should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 400/-
for SC/ST Candidates) through demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favour
of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai
• Completed applications, along with the necessary enclosures and
registration fee, should be downloaded and submitted either by speed /
